Britt is about to enter Week 20, so we're starting to think about their 'Wish List.'
We really can't wait to get started tagging items at Target and other places.
But, here's the biggest question.
What are the must have items and the waste-of-money items?
This is a legitimate question we are discussing because it seems there is such a plethora of baby things with pricing running the gamut.
Chime in and let us know your favorites and not-so-favorite things.
We need help!!
Place for baby to sleep, some onesies, wipes, diapers, socks, and get a bale or two of those big cheese-cloth like diapers at Babies R Us for spit up and assorted spillage. Couple of lightweight blankets. Myself, I hate those boppie things that hold the baby for you. New parents are supposed to have numb arms. Pacifiers. My son had a nice spongy pillow that fit in the sink for baths. Get Dreft laundry soap for babies. Pretty much everything else is a "good to have" not a "have to have." Oh, and sunscreen and hats for Florida. :D And those combination stroller, car seat things are great. Wish they'd had those when my kids were little. Of course, I doubt that we could have afforded one! LOL
ReplyDeleteDiane, thank you, so much for these great suggestions!! Looks like an excellent start. I think the stroller selection will be a challenge.
ReplyDeleteBuy very few new born items. The little one grows so fast. Dreft is good. But of course as Grandparents you may buy as much as you want
ReplyDeleteBarbie-Hoff, I just want to make sure to get all the really great new stuff that will make things a bit less laborious. They have improved things so much. However, I don't want to waste money on items that end up being given to Goodwill without ever being used (you know, with the price tags still dangling from them). Seems like it would be easy to get carried away. Just want to make smart buying decisions. Thanks for your suggestions.
ReplyDeleteWhen I come visit we can go to Babies R Us. I had mommies help me figure out what to get and it was so helpful!
ReplyDeleteThe soft little sleeping gowns were great with mine when they were tiny. Easy for them to wiggle in and easy access for changing which makes everyone happy. But, that was a hundred years ago don't know if they even make them now. You are right, things change and things are so much better now, but yoou are right again, don't buy what isn't useful and good.
ReplyDeleteI bought my first born because I thought he needed everything wonderful, and it was a pair of shark skin little dress shoes! Just guess how long he was able to wear them? Correct not long and they were not cheap.
